Planning Our Romantic Trip to Macau, Hong Kong, KL and Thailand

Every summer we try to plan a larger trip. Last year was Australia and Hawaii with Montana, Year before was a Romantic Hawaii cruise and stay on the Big Island. The year before was a trip to NYC and a cruise on the Norwegian Dawn .

This summer, due to great airline mile accumulation and deals, we have chosen to go more exotic and romantic, and have planned our trip to Macau, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Thailand. Montana wanted to go to camp all summer, so that gave us some great options.

I spent a month working in KL, Malaysia a few years back and loved it. Warren has not been to Asia yet, but has always been drawn to it. We have friends that moved to Hong Kong last year, so we will visit them and I have friends that I worked with in Malaysia a few years back that we will also visit.

The flights are booked, hotels are booked, and now the question we are asking is: "what shall we do while we are there?" So I started researching.

Do you have any ideas that could help? I would love to know what you have done, or would want to do in Macau, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Thailand (Bangkok and Phuket).

Or do you know a great site for reviews and video of awesome and romantic things to do in these places. We like to have experiences more than sight see if that makes sense.

I found this video that gives us an idea of Hong Kong

What a great itinerary!! You will love your trips.

There are so many things to do in Thailand that will be perfect for romantic trip. A couple massage by the beach is a must. :) Take a day trip to Koh Phi Phi for a nice relaxing day on the beach. Also a boat trip to Floating Village will be a treat.

Macau is like South East Asian Vegas. You can enjoy nightlife in the casino and great architecture during the day.

Hong Kong.. what can I say.. Lot of great food and shopping. We went to NongPing 360 for a great cable ride up the mountain. Night market is a fun activity as well.

Enjoy your trip planning.

Your trip sounds absolutely amazing and I am very envious!

Hong Kong is my number 1 city in the world and I was there 3 weeks ago. There is so much to see and do. An absolute must is Ocean Park to go on the cable car and see the amazing pandas close up. Macau is very different to HK but there are some great historical sites to see and the egg custard tarts are lovely!

I was in KL at Christmas and did the tour bus around the city which is good to get an overview. There are lots of old colonial buildings around Merdeka Square and going up the KL Tower is a good experience (don't get the top priced ticket though, the tourist ticket I think it was called, you don't really get anything extra for it!)

Thailand and Bangkok are lovely, the Golden Palace and Wat Arun are great to see and I love riding the skytrain and cruising down the Chao Praya River to get about with ease.

Hope you all have a lovely time!
